WHAT TO EXPECT?
The institute will draw on a variety of NACEP guides and resources, reviewing the materials required for the accreditation application, preparation, and submission process. Participants will also work with NACEP’s Self-Assessment Worksheets, which provide a structured approach to evaluating your program’s readiness for accreditation. These worksheets help identify areas of strength, highlight opportunities for improvement, and pinpoint any gaps that may need attention.
In an effort to go green, NACEP will email the agenda and institute materials to attendees approximately one week before the event. If you prefer hard copies, please bring your own—thank you for supporting this initiative!
HOW TO PREPARE?
For further details about the accreditation application process and required materials, please refer to the Application Process & Resources webpage.
WHY ATTEND?
The institute is a critical component for programs seeking initial accreditation and is equally valuable for those undergoing re-accreditation, especially when new staff members have joined the team. Institutions and programs are encouraged to participate with a team of at least two representatives.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The accreditation process thrives on collaboration among a program’s internal and external partners. Attending the Accreditation Institute is not only beneficial—it is essential for navigating the accreditation journey successfully.
- Initial Accreditation: Programs seeking initial accreditation are strongly encouraged to attend with a team of two or more members.
- Re-Accreditation: Programs preparing for re-accreditation in the 2027–2028 and 2028–2029 cycles, especially those with new staff or new roles, will gain valuable insights from participation.
We encourage participation from all program partners, including but not limited to college and university administrators, deans, program directors and staff, faculty liaisons, secondary partners: superintendents, principals, high school teachers, and school counselors.
Membership Requirement: Attendees must have an active membership to qualify for the member rate. Membership fees must be paid, and attendees must be linked to the active membership.
