This session showcases state and multistate efforts underway to increase access to graduate courses for high school teachers. Three panelists discuss their work to expand access to graduate credits needed to meet regional accreditors’ requirements for concurrent enrollment instructors.
Jenny Parks and Liz Van Pay from MHEC will introduce Graduate Credit Quest, a searchable database of graduate courses offered by Midwestern universities for current and aspiring concurrent enrollment instructors. The website provides portals and tools for university staff who wish to list their courses and access a wider pool of teachers seeking such opportunities. There are also portals for teachers and their concurrent enrollment liaisons so that teachers can seek approval for courses in which they would like to enroll.
Jessica Espinosa will introduce Minnesota’s new Pathway to 18 Project, a collaborative effort by the seven Minnesota State Universities to increase graduate course access for current and aspiring concurrent enrollment instructors.  Designed with concurrent enrollment instructors in mind, Pathway to 18 is a one-stop-shop for instructors to get all the information they need to enroll in graduate courses across a variety of subject areas.
