2013 National Conference Archives

Conference Overview

On October 19-21, 2013, 500 educational leaders from 42 states convened for the NACEP's 2013 National Conference, Navigating Changing Tides in College Readiness. The conference, hosted by Duval County Public Schools and Florida State College at Jacksonville, opened with speeches from Sheri Ranis, Strategy Director of the Lumina Foundation and Matt Gianneschi, Vice President of Policy and Programs at Education Commission of the States, who spoke on emerging trends in college transition and state policy.  Over sixty breakout sessions featured presentations, panel discussions, roundtable dialogue, and volunteer committee meetings on a variety of topics. The conference included a full-day Accreditation Institute for programs considering applying for NACEP accreditation, and, for the first time, a Professional Development Academy of discipline- and role-specific workshops designed specifically for high school instructors, school counselors and college advisors, and school-based administrators.

The conference program includes a schedule and descriptions of the sessions.
