State Findings: High School Dual Enrollment Pathways Into College

In CCRC's report What Happens to Students Who Take Community College “Dual Enrollment” Courses in High School?, we tracked more than 200,000 high school students who took a community college class in fall 2010 for six years, using data from the National Student Clearinghouse.
What type of college former dual enrollment students attended after high school and how many completed a college credential varied greatly by state. Additionally, many states showed big disparities in completion rates between lower and higher income students.
The interactive infographic below shows the percentage of all entering first-time-in-college community college students in each state who were classified as high school dual enrollment students (age 17 or younger) in fall 2010. Click on a state to see college attainment outcomes for students who were 17 years old when they took a dual enrollment course in fall 2010.
