A brief statement describing the nominee's interest in the position.
I am ready to return to NACEP service as a member of the Accreditation Committee.
Organization: Farmingdale State College
Brief description of nominee's work in concurrent enrollment and with NACEP:
In March 2021, I was appointed to the NACEP Accreditation Commission as a Four-Year Institutional Representative, filling the remainder of a vacant term. I wish to continue the work I am doing with the NACEP Accreditation Commission.
I have been with Farmingdale State College, State University of New York (FSC SUNY) for ten years, and working with the University in the High School (UHS) concurrent enrollment program for nearly seven years. UHS serves a large, diverse population throughout Long Island and the New York City region. I was initially hired with UHS to help roll out NACEP standards, including onboarding faculty liaisons. My responsibilities quickly increased as a co-manager and a primary author of FSC’s entire NACEP accreditation application.
In May 2019, I was appointed to the SUNY Concurrent Enrollment Working Group. The SUNY Provost, along with multiple SUNY Vice-Chancellors tasked the Working Group with performing a review of concurrent enrollment activities at all 64 SUNY institutions, culminating in a Report and Recommendations. The document was shared with the Advisory Committee, Board of Trustees, and Chancellor of the SUNY, and intended to inform decision-making regarding SUNY policies related to concurrent enrollment.
Prior service as a NACEP accreditation peer reviewer, knowledge of NACEP's standards, and other relevant experience (e.g. with other accrediting organizations):
I have in-depth knowledge of the NACEP standards as a result of my role with the Accreditation Commission for the past 10 months, as well as years of preparation and implementation of the standards for UHS. I manage 40+ faculty liaisons, and help oversee UHS. I am the NACEP Standards point-person at FSC. I oversaw significant programmatic changes to adopt NACEP standards, while also developing and improving initiatives for students in low-income areas throughout the region.
Since joining UHS, I have attended numerous NACEP events: Annual Conferences, Accreditation Institutes, and regional meetings. After events, I presented the information gleaned to the campus community and external stakeholders and created the cultural shift needed to adopt, implement, and uphold the NACEP standards.
I also served on the FSC Middle States Commission on Higher Education Evidence Subcommittee, reviewing and organizing evidence in preparation for FSC’s re-accreditation application.
A brief statement describing the nominee's interest in the position.
I am eager to support NACEP because my values and professional goals align with NACEP’s Vision. I am a committed education professional with a goal of advancing equity in education. I am experienced in managing program initiatives that require diplomacy, complemented by robust skills in technical writing and public speaking.
I hold a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and am currently conducting research in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a PhD in Curriculum, Instruction, and the Science of Learning. My research concentrates on education equity and diversity, with specific focus on concurrent enrollment.
My previous experience as a K-12 educator and adjunct professor is relevant because I understand first-hand the dynamics between institutions, and college culture. As a technical writer, I have been trained to read, write, and review large documents with the ability to summarize and present ideas concisely.

2019-present St. Cloud State University Director of Dual Enrollment
Prior service as a NACEP accreditation peer reviewer, knowledge of NACEP's standards, and other relevant experience (e.g. with other accrediting organizations):
Experience with NACEP, HLC & SACSCOC accreditation renewals and standards as concurrent enrollment staff member and assistant registrar positions; experience with one-year extension through NACEP to improve program standards at St. Cloud State University; current NACEP accreditation peer reviewer
A brief statement describing the nominee's interest in the position.
Minnesota is a state that is very supportive of dual enrollment programming. I was raised by two secondary educators (also both concurrent enrollment teachers) who instilled a passion for education and taught me the power that knowledge and experiences can give an individual. I am passionate about greater access to postsecondary education for students of color, students from lower socioeconomic status, and future first-generation college students. Most of my professional experience has been working with and advocating for dual credit programs for high school students because of the access and benefits they provide for students and families. I strongly believe that dual credit programs can be used intentionally to bridge the transition between secondary and postsecondary education. These partnerships can be beneficial for both high schools and postsecondary institutions. My personal and professional beliefs are aligned with NACEP's mission and I believe accreditation and quality programming is crucial for the success of concurrent enrollment students.
Two-Year Public Postsecondary Institutional Representative
(Two-Year Term)
Organization: National Park College
Brief description of nominee's work in concurrent enrollment and with NACEP:
Mrs. Poteet resides in Hot Springs, Arkansas and has been employed with National Park College for the past fifteen years. She has served as the Concurrent Credit Coordinator for the past eight years. During her time as the Coordinator, she has been instrumental in developing the National Park Early College program. Under her direction, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) has approved National Park College with additional site locations to offer more than half of an Associate degree on one campus and the opportunity of an Associate degree on another campus. These approvals have required her to work closely with administration from both the high school and the college to ensure the paperwork and site visit with HLC was a smooth and seamless process.
Prior service as a NACEP accreditation peer reviewer, knowledge of NACEP's standards, and other relevant experience (e.g. with other accrediting organizations):

Poteet was the driving force in the formation of the AACEP chapter. She attended the NACEP National Conference for eight years and found her attendance and participation at these conferences has provided her with a wealth of knowledge. While at the Louisville, Kentucky conference in 2016, she served on the panel for the discussion of “The Benefits and Challenges of Starting a State or Regional NACEP Chapter.” She has continued to serve NACEP in her role as the Two-Year Postsecondary Representative by presenting at National and Regional Conferences on the Accreditation Standards.
A brief statement describing the nominee's interest in the position.
Mrs. Poteet is interested in continuing to serve as the Two-Year Postsecondary Representative on the NACEP Accreditation Commission to have a voice in the decision-making process, to give back to the organization and to continue her growth as a lifelong learner. If she is re-elected to this position this will also allow her to continue to stay current with national trends so she can be a benefit to her institution, the students it serves and her state through her various representative roles.
