This annual event brings together colleagues, policy experts, and education advocates to learn about and discuss policy trends, federal work influencing the field, and upcoming legislation affecting concurrent and dual enrollment programs.

The NACEP Advocacy Commission and College in High School Alliance invite you to join us for a virtual Washington Policy Seminar on the afternoon of June 8th and 9th, 2021. This annual event brings together colleagues, policy experts, and education advocates to learn about and discuss policy trends, federal work influencing the field, and upcoming legislation affecting concurrent and dual enrollment programs. The seminar will feature presentations and discussions with key policymakers from DC-based education associations, Federal agencies, and education advocates, as well as updates from NACEP's partners in the College in High School Alliance.

The tentative agenda for these two, half-day meetings includes the following topics:

  • Understanding Federal statute impacting dual and concurrent enrollment programs

  • The Biden Administration’s Education Agenda

  • US Department of Education priorities under new Secretary of Education, Dr. Miguel Cardona

  • What’s Next on College Affordability and where do College in High School Programs fit in?

  • Reflecting on the results of the Pell Dual Enrollment Experimental Sites

  • Opportunities for K12 and Higher Education in the American Rescue Plan of 2021
