NACEP Webbytes: Crossing the Streams

We hope you will join us for this new webbyte titled Crossing the Streams:Using AQIP Processes to Pursue NACEP Accreditation. In the fall of 2014, Mineral Area College needed to address three areas of concern: the College was centralizing its course-level assessment processes with new software, it was improving oversight of dual credit by reviewing procedures, and it was needing a new Academic Quality Improvement Plan (AQIP) action project. This presentation will discuss how the AQIP action project aligned dual credit curriculum and assessment to address goals for both the dual credit program and its pursuit of NACEP accreditation while fulfilling Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation requirements. Presenters will discuss the broad involvement of faculty and staff to improve dual credit and assessment processes, while demonstrating several of HLC’s principles of high-performing institutions.
Mineral Area College was in need of a new AQIP action project in the fall of 2014. As part of the College’s AQIP processes, employees provided suggestions and voted on their top project pick. Overwhelmingly, employees voted to focus on dual credit. This presentation will discuss how the project was structured, how main campus faculty buy-in increased, and how dual credit and assessment processes have been improved as a result of the action project. Presenters will also discuss how the project laid the foundation for the College to pursue NACEP accreditation while demonstrating several of HLC’s principles of high-performing institutions. This webinar is also very applicable for quality improvement initiatives at colleges in other regional accrediting areas such as the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and School's (SACSCOC) Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
