The number of programs applying for NACEP accreditation continues to rise each year – we anticipate conducting peer review of 38 concurrent enrollment programs during the 2018-19 school year. Further, we anticipate that this number will only continue to increase when the Accreditation Commission expands the scope of models that can seek accreditation. In anticipation of the increased workload as well as to support currently-accredited institutions, the Accreditation Commission is proposing an expansion of the current body from 9 to 12 members. In addition to setting accreditation-related policy and serving as the decision-making body for accreditation decisions; Commissioners individually put in countless hours working with peer review teams, responding to inquiries from applicants, developing training resources, and making presentations. Adding three experienced representatives of NACEP-accredited programs to this body will increase our capacity to better serve you.
The Commission plans to submit proposed bylaw changes to effect this change to the designated voting representative of each NACEP-accredited program in June. The Commission proposes that these three new positions serve three-year terms, to minimize turnover and establish greater consistency.
Questions or comments on the proposed changes can be posted below and/or submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will also hold two web-enabled conference calls for you to discuss these proposals with the Accreditation Commission leadership:
- May 17, 2018 – 10am Eastern
- May 23, 2018 – 3pm Eastern
